— When a dangerous new weapon is launched, Tintin and Adrian Boron set off to prevent it from being used and also expose any malfeasance along the way.
— This story may take place after OK3 (now-offline)

In a fresh effort to empower Borduria’s dictator Marshal Kûrvi-Tasch, his duplicitous financier Redd White aims to supply him with a powerful tri-weapon (chemical pathogen + antidote + activator) that will allow the dictator’s soldiers and agents to poison water supplies and use a frequency device to activate the rapidly lethal poison easily without any ill-effects to anyone consuming the antidote.

However, Redd White, unbeknownst to Kûrvi-Tasch, is also financing Borduria’s rebel leader Patty. White’s firm Blucorp are also funding the company behind the weapon, Scimitar that have access to military technology. Patty is hoping to receive this weapon from White as part of her financing deal with him but it is not guaranteed.

One thing Blucorp insists on doing is providing offices and infrastructure to its companies in an incubator type arrangement. All the hardware for its companies are laden with hardware-impregnated spyware that send screenshots every second to Blucorp’s HQ for recording, including screenshots from the CEO Hokeler‘s laptop. Thus, Redd White has plans to essentially usurp this technology (ie the complete weapon) and provide it to Kûrvi-Tasch instead of Patty to make the war last longer and increase his revenues.

The weapon and antidote was tested by Sponsz (Scimitar’s “security contact” firm as lead by corrupt Melbourne politician, Sponsz himself) on a Melbourne train line on homeless addicts proving it worked. Here Tintin learned of it and began his news story. He also met some very upset addicts who decided to help after they overheard some conversations that they recalled. The army also sent in an armored vehicle to look strong, but they were only there to make sure the incident was kept as quiet as possible as they themselves didn’t know what was truly going on and it had all the hallmarks of a black-ops operation on it. Sponsz’s private organization has links to the military and works on various other clandestine projects.

In the meantime, Adrian Boron bumps into Captain Haddock on the dance floor at BiggieSmalls bar and they become friends. Also, as an addict saw the registration plates of a white utility vehicle speed away, Calculus is able to find it and fit a tracker to it whilst it is being fitted out at a local mechanic to carry the poison and frequency weapon (and antidote.) Calculus finds it with the help of Thomson and Thompson who watch it for a few days.

Adrian Boron and Tintin are later spotted at the train line by Sponsz speaking to survivors of the attack with his female friend Rosalind. Boron decides to help as he suspects there is some type of coverup involved, as the news stories on the radio were false (that’s what the survivors say) and many of the homeless witnesses were later “taken away” eg the 60’s couple seen at Soda Rock.

Boron is followed and kidnapped but eventually escapes the captor’s car (a white Rolls Royce) belonging to Sponsz. He ends up fleeing the car on the move and rolls down an embankment to a woman’s house that has many pets. The woman has to kick her dog lightly when he reaches her door (Boron is still tied up) looking for help so the dog would become friendly and stop barking. This kind woman later has her house burnt down after Sponsz learns she helped Boron – all her pets except the dog are killed. Sponsz wants to deter Boron and others from getting involved in his ‘business.’

The following day the white utility vehicle is followed by Tintin across Melbourne where it is to drive onto a ship at a port to take back to Borduria. The vehicle is parked at the port in the secured carpark. At this point Tintin calls Haddock who happens to be at the dock preparing to embark on a journey himself on another ship but tells Tintin he knows the port director very well, a drinking buddy of his, Jammo. Haddock offers Jammo a drink, and as he goes to the bathroom, Tintin changes the vehicle’s designated ship to Haddock’s, ‘Sentry Seven’ instead of the designated one ‘Bordurian.’ The vehicle is moved onto ‘Sentry Seven’ that evening. It sails off into the sunset to an unknown destination with Calculus onboard assessing the vehicle.

A couple of weeks later, the ‘Bordurian’ is a few miles out from port. Then Kûrvi-Tasch’s marine squad, as informed by Redd White (who has been spying on Hokeler’s laptop,) storm the ship to sail it to an alternate port to steal the vehicle in the name of “national security.” However, when they don’t find the target vehicle on board, they boycott the operation to the captain’s bewilderment. When the ship arrives, Patty’s people are there and she turns to ice when she realizes the vehicle isn’t on the ship. She was personally awaiting the ship as informed by Redd White, who was in communication with Hokeler.

Back in Melbourne, Sponsz learns from Hokeler that the vehicle never arrived in Borduria so Sponsz blames Boron. Redd White agrees. Then, on a date, Adrian catches Rosalind poisoning his drink (the Chalice of Malice) in the mirror but doesn’t drink it and knocks it off the table instead. She looks fearful that he discovered the spiking, but as he examines the look in her eyes, neither say anything. As the two walk home together, Sponsz’s hit squad attempt a drive-by kidnapping from a van but the two escape by getting onto a train track with a train hitting a couple of Sponsz’s men after being pushed by Boron and Rosalind. Rosalind is shot, and as she is dying, she says to Boron that her family was threatened if she didn’t carry a tracking device and attempt to poison him. She said she was tortured by Sponsz and shows her scars. She says Sponsz wanted her to kill him (ie Boron) to make it more emotionally painful for him in his final moments and that Sponsz could easily kill either of them and “make it look like an accident” regardless.

The next scene is a shot of the war waging against the dictator in Borduria with no room of either side winning in sight. Both sides are upset they didn’t get the weapon and there is a shot of a freshly-dug mass grave that is waiting to be filled by the dictator. He was planning to poison water supplies of entire villages and bases of rebels but couldn’t successfully as he was worried his own agents and allies would be killed or overthrow him in the process.

The next scene is that of Patty, noticing how the dictator has a similar gold statue in his office to the one she also received from Redd White. Redd regularly speaks to both on the phone on the same day, feeding them both encouragement in a duplicitous manner.

Patty eventually finds Redd while he is vacationing in a nearby country to confront him on this – how can the dictator have the same statue (she sees Kûrvi-Tasch’s statue in his office on television)? Is it a betrayal? (yes – he funds them both) This is a similar scene to Scarface…

Patty then kills Redd, although to his defense Redd says that he doesn’t know what happened to the weaponized vehicle. Patty spares April May (his assistant) who ends up killing Patty anyway after Patty has an epileptic fit and her guards are helping her with medication. Just after this a guard shoots April. Then the guards end up in a battle (to determine succession) until there’s one man left who just drops his gun and walks away before slipping on some blood and hitting his head hard on the brick floor.

The final scene has Haddock returning the vehicle to Melbourne to visit Tintin, who takes photos and writes an extensive news story of what happened that includes interviews with Boron and Calculus. He also connects it to the events in Borduria (and Patty’s death) after Tintin tells him the vehicle’s original destination was Borduria. This article makes headlines around the world and is published on election day, leading to a vote of no-confidence in Melbourne and Sponsz losing power. The final shot has Thomson and Thompson calling Sponsz to the station for questioning with photos and testimonies of the 60’s couple (and others) on the table.
