1992: Spellbound from take to mistake!
The body soon knows where the nose goes!

* In the video above, I mention using my brother’s stereo and bike accessories (tyre pump) after he left for boarding school.
That snippet was shot in February and when he returned for term 1 holidays, I admitted to using his stereo and other stuff. It was just a casual conversation we had. My mother was somewhat okay with me doing so, but only under certain conditions. He also used some of my stuff in the following year. We ultimately shared our stuff… within reasonable limits under the constraints of the time.
Interestingly, within a year of that vid I got a bump on my nose (see below) after a painful snowboarding fall on a steep run at Val d’Isère, France on a foggy day.
I ventured into a space I should never have gone into.
Prior that trip, I had skied in France in the 85/86 season. Below is with the ski instructor Lionel at Club Med, Tignes Val Claret, for a 2-star award… great teacher and person.
The watch I am wearing is a junior Swatch… one of the first! It did take some learning on how to read it, though! The jumper is for the LA Olympics, 1984. And I already knew of another Lionel at that point!
Anyhow, a number of days after the fall, my mum then offered to take me to a doctor but I declined because I feared doctors due to their injections. Yet now from my understanding, a doctor can manually correct a fractured nose within a week of it breaking – so that was also a mistake not to go (although maybe a doctor would’ve f***** it more.) I am more the cautious type – my brother more impetuous.
My grandfather once told me he broke his nose, I think during the war, and he just used his bare hands to snap it back into place. No doctor. He laughed about it.
But for me, I didn’t think of that, I just didn’t want an operation, and if I could still breathe through it, and it looked okay, I’d be fine.
To this day, I don’t see why the body can’t naturally restructure itself to its original blueprint. Perhaps it never will whilst under a Witch’s Spell.
I haven’t snowboarded since about 1995, but I would give it another shot – on a Gayton and custom piste.
That may break the spell!
