Chalice of Malice

This scene takes place as part of the pre-murder sequence at Hokeler’s place where Sponsz often sleeps. Scene sequence:

    1. Dawson – Sponsz (shrine)
    2. Muller – Sponsz (Sponz’s place)
    3. Hokeler – Sponsz (Hokeler’s place as seen here)

Sponsz: I trust you have prepared the white truck for tomorrow’s first test run on live subjects?
Hokeler: Why yes of course Hen. You have the test subjects, I have the truck.
Sponsz: We’ll be going to the animal pound. There are dogs and cats there waiting to be euthanized. [this is a lie – Hokeler doesn’t know the full extent of Sponsz’s barbarity – it’s Hokeler’s first job in the arms industry – he’s from a bioengineering background]
Hokeler: Perfect
Sponsz: You know, loose lips sink ships.
Hokeler: Some ships sink anyway [moves close to him while holding the wine glass, which is still full .. Sponsz’s is almost finished.] And you have a track record on this?
Sponsz: Yes. I am standing here – that says enough
Hokeler: So no titanic disasters?
Sponsz: Exactly. Let’s keep it that way.

Note: Hokeler is one of many CEOs that’ve worked for Scimitar.  He hasn’t raised money for Scimitar, nor did he start it. He has been Sponsz’ boyfriend for a long time, even prior to Hokeler starting to work at Scimitar, and Sponsz has been testing and supporting Scimitar and White’s other weapons and war interests for an even longer time. Hokeler’s compromised laptop sits on the table, and there are two glasses – but they  aren’t the chalices.

After the murders, the story sheet sequence is to be:

  1. T + T
  2. Tintin at train tracks
  3. T + T and Ferrari near-hit
  4. White/Patty as mixed with Kurvi-Tasche.
  5. Boron meeting at Grumpy’s (or Pixel Alley) – they’re on a mission from God

Note: the NGV (Ian Potter gallery) is a 4 minute walk from this tram stop (Flinders Street train station is across the road) and the shrine is about a 15-20 minute walk. The couple and another man can leave the soup van together at the NGV (8:30pm), and then split here: the couple takes a train to their train-line refuge, and the man walks up to the shrine. Both are murdered that night – the woman survives as she drunk the orange juice with the antidote.

Final words:
Train homeless man: I guess I’ll see you next time
Shrine homeless man: I hope so
Train homeless woman: You sleep well
Shrine homeless man: Always do [shows his hip flask]
[Train woman pats his back]

The BB x Muller car chase takes place after the Failed Hokeler Kill at Fawkner House where Violette gets knocked unconscious from Snowy tripping her up. Muller is waiting in his car nearby. Hokeler gets scared when he sees T+T, Violette and Tintin. He’s also aware of the media attention from Tintin’s story. When he sees Muller point a gun out of his window, he sprints off. Muller does a U-Turn. The Blues Brothers are waiting nearby (they had dropped off Tintin and were waiting to collect him) and so they tell Hokeler to get in (Muller is closing in and Hokeler’s about to get shot.)

Jake: Wait, he’s a bad guy
Elwood: What’s he done to you?
Jake: OK, whatever Elwood.
Elwood: This car is meant for the twilight zone.
Jake: Yeah, but I’m not.

The car chase begins and Muller wants to kill Hokeler because of the information that he knows that would lead to his, Sponsz, Topolino and Brambin’s arrest. Muller ends up knocking over some bikers’ Harleys and they begin their pursuit too. Also, the police start pursuing Muller. Further down the chase, ET gets out with the EMF pulse gun that he finds in the car (he’s tapping on the window to get out with the tracker in hand as well) and then targets Muller as he drives passed (the BB have driven off at that point,) which disables his car – it crashes through a fence and ends up sinking in the sea.

Hokeler got out too and lifts ET into a dumpster to hide him (in a state of emotional overload and disbelief,) and ET motions with his finger for him to be quiet. Hokeler ends up turning himself in, or rather just waiting for the police and ambulance to arrive. The bikers end up watching Muller as he emerges (with a gun) from the sea holding batons just as the police arrive. Hokeler is standing behind the bikers and they offer him some protection at that point and Muller puts down his gun as the police arrive, and he decides not to shoot Hokeler. The bikers leave just after the first police get out with guns drawn on Muller.

A few hours later the BB return to get ET out of the dumpster (or trash can.)

Note: Hokeler is from a mixed background, with a German father and asian/pacific/island mother. Some possibilities from this list include Kai Braden, Keahu Kahuanui, Max Huang and Arifin Putra. A number of New Zealand actors could also work. He should be cool under pressure, yet also slightly angry, so a stunt actor could work. He should also be able to portray someone identifying as strongly gay whilst also intuitive and studious.

– breakdowns v1.0 (story and locations)

These artifacts dissect the story according to location, transport, music and plot points. The Chalice of Malice posts can be viewed in chronological order through this link. The plot points (pic 4) take the audience through the film for a satisfying conclusion, but do not include introductory or scene-setting sequences, they are presumed.

1) BB drive up to Muller and put ET in his car whilst he’s moving, who proceeds to pull the handbrake, cover his eyes, change the gears and cause havoc to make the car stop for the police to catch up and make an arrest. (plot point: Failed Hokeler kill) The BB can also attempt to do that in the Foot chase scene, and that distracts Sponsz enough for the BB to get away (with Boron and Rosalind,) but Sponsz throws out ET quickly – or ET jumps out the window. ET would carry a tracker for the BB to pick him up later.

2) Boron falls asleep by a pool in Hawaii (sleeping on beach is banned there,) leading to black-out and film end. Music starts: Paradise is Waiting (St Lucia remix) (plot point: honeymoon)

3) A flamethrower is fitted to the G-Wagon in the dream-within-dream (as yet unused,) but that can actually be replaced by a weapon that disables electronic circuits and chips by sending out an EMF pulse. It is part of a new weapon being devised by Topolino. Just not sure where/how it would be used in current story. Cars are so electronic today, it could easily disable a car. Alternatively, the BB could have this weapon (as a handheld device) and use it on Muller’s vehicle, rather than using ET as an action hero. The BB obtain this weapon from someone they met in prison along with the 4 tracking devices too (1 for the Bordurian, 1 for the white weapons truck and 1 for the G-Wagon.) The BB can stop their car and give the EMF gun to ET to fire at Muller’s vehicle from the side of the road as he drives by. This is so the police and the bikers will catch Muller and not the BB who don’t want to get close to Muller (even to fire the weapon.) Then the BB can go back and collect ET on foot later after a few hours as he hides in a dumpster (with the last tracking device) – only after the police and bikers leave.

4) During the dream, shots of Boron can be shown where he’s asleep after the wedding with the camera moving out (he then rolls around in bed,) and the camera then moving back into his body. This is optional and is to remind (and tell) the audience it is a dream. This same style of shot is used in the final shot of Boron falling asleep by the pool.

5) On the Australian naval ship, a drone can approach it as controlled by Krônick and Klûmsi but someone aboard can disable it with an energy weapon so it falls out of the sky (sign of dominance.)

Usage: In the scene where Sponsz is driving Hokeler home and Redd White mentions sympathy while on the phone to Hokeler, Sponsz sees a bike rider get caught in the tram tracks and fall. He doesn’t flinch and even accelerates narrowly missing him (just to scare him even more.)

Sponsz then looks back in his rear-view mirror to see that he gets the reaction he’s looking for, and the rider raises a fist to him. Sponsz then smirks and he doesn’t even care that Hokeler is not paying attention to him or the incident.

However, T+T could be standing nearby and note the car’s plates for their use later.
