Kabi Dreaming

– To me, the sacred Aboriginal sites benefit not just indigenous people but everyone due to their energy. It makes no sense to tamper with them. It’s all very well to evict the “locals” from the land either illegally, by force, cooperatively… whatever… but to me it’s just silly to construct on the land or demolish what’s on it without careful thought. It’s not like they (the Kabi group) are holding vast tracts of land that get in the way of urban development. That site could be like Central Park in New York (only much smaller) as could many sacred sites. And that idea in itself sidesteps the issue of who can and should actually live there and all the division that comes with it.

It is said that the indigenous people arrived in Australia from S.E. Asia. That’s a 100,000 year head start in 100’s of millions of years, if not billions of years. It’s crucial, but who arrived first is not the be-all and end-all. It’s incredible that indigenous people actually located such spots in the first place, and it sustained them for so long. Can’t that benefit everyone?

In my view, the Gympie Pyramid area should have a proper pyramid built on it and parts could be dedicated for people to live near it. People can pay to visit the pyramid and it will benefit everyone.

Black, white, mixed -we’re all human. Having a proper pyramid built to a high standard at the Gympie Pyramid location might just be exactly what the doctor ordered!

The referendum was also about a “Voice” construct, in addition to constitutional recognition. There was one response in the ballot for both items. People were not happy about the “Voice”. The campaign against was lead by indigenous people. Hence the referendum went down.
