OK3 – New introduction scene (prior to Velox,) or it could be inserted into OK1 as part of its intro and set the stage for the entire series.

This scene is set in the holy city of Tsfat and is similar to Seth and Michael’s scene. The conversation and setting is important but the characters are not really developed. It follows 2 girls, Rivka (religious) and Sarah (secular) who are on Birthright Israel who walk downhill from the Ha-Ari Askenazi Synagogue to the Ari Mikve that borders on the cemetery (both in Tsfat.) The Mikve is a spring-fed dipping pool that is said to have life-enhancing properties and has been used for hundreds of years. The girls don’t go into the pool building – it is basically reserved for men. The scene also familiarizes the audience with rural northern Israel. Tsfat is nearby to Peki’in where the cave of Shimon Bar Yohai is located (OK5.) That town is on the other side of Mt Meron (3rd last pic.)

[note: these pics were taken almost 15 years ago. The 4th pic shows a view of Lake Tiberias – where the other holy city of Tiveria lies. Other holy cities in Israel are Jerusalem and Hebron]

Sarah: My dad is always talking about finding a cure for ageing, like that should be a thing anyway?
Rivka: Gilgul, reincarnation is to accelerate soul learning
Sarah: So death is cool, right?
Rivka: Well, it’s not this monster bad thing
Sarah: But who thinks like that?
Rivka: For many religious Jews, death is about “cashing in” on your good deeds and making it into Olam Haba
Sarah: Olam Haba?
Rivka: The world-to-come
Sarah: You’d have to do a lot of good to get there
Rivka: A long-life would help…
Sarah: ohh right. The Essenes I read lived around 120 years, imagine that?
Rivka: How?
Sarah: They harvested ormus from the dead sea
Rivka: You have these people that want to cheat death. They only cheat themselves.
Sarah: K. I’ll tell dad
Rivka: More than that, a long-life with no growth in spirituality could see immensely troubled times. You need conscience.
Sarah: And the whole world should lift up together.
[they pass some guys coming out of the pool complex]

Sarah: By the way, I think there is a ton of ormus coming through that spring [points to the pool complex]
Rivka: I learn so much from you [touches Sarah’s shoulder]

Perfect System (OK2) + Crimson and Clover – dialogue expansion

– this is to prepare the audience for the miracle of the burning bush over Mount Moriah later in OK2, the increased lifespans after OK3 (Civilization Day,) and the miracles in OK5.
–  Michael and Seth were known to each other in the Jewish tradition, with Michael being an archangel and Seth being the child of Adam and Eve (and a forefather of Noah.)

– these two pics were taken directly from the OK2 storyboard (now offline)

Walking back behind some students (Seth and Michael) in the old city:

Seth: Michael, every person I speak to wants the messiah but I don’t think people worldwide are ready to see all the open miracles that would come during this time.
Michael: Right. A third temple and then what, 1000 years of righteousness? As if..
Seth: Well, really it’s not if but when..
Michael: And how….

– new dialogue added. The pair walk into an empty classroom waiting for a teacher to arrive, or the back room of a synagogue to further the discussion (second pic.)

Seth: You know, in the mishnah it says there were 10 standing open miracles during the temple period, the first temple at least.. [** source see below]
Michael: What were they again Seth?
Seth: Ahh, flies weren’t landing on the sacrificed animals — all the blood and guts, a giant abattoir – and no flies anywhere… and another that even on windy days, smoke rose vertically off the altar
Michael: So if all our patriarchs lived for hundreds of years.. was that a miracle too?
Seth: Ha, I should know, Seth lived for 912 years, right? Miracle or not, I can’t say I’m not open to that right now!
Michael: Me too. Think of all the lovely friends we’ll make in that time [slightly elbows him]
Seth: But you’d have to be an absolute freak of nature to live that long today
Michael: More than a freak. You’d be breaking with nature.
Seth: A miracle then. But back then, it was the norm
Michael: So a bit of both perhaps. The real question, is whether there is an actual mechanism in the human body to live that long?
Seth: Well, if there is, it’s dormant. But you gotta have faith Mikey

[at that point that see a stray cat rummaging through a bin, it finds a fish carcass and runs away with it – there are many such cats in Jerusalem]

[“the density of cats in Jerusalem is the highest ever recorded anywhere in the world — about 2,000 cats per square kilometer” – pic source]

Seth: Cause and effect can only take you so far.
Michael: Yep, you gotta dial in to the the real cause [looks up to the sky after  seeing the shadow of a real-life eagle overhead – not like the imaginary one from OK1. It could be an actual Golden Eagle or any listed here]
Seth: The eternal platform …of cause and effect
Michael: Yess, fist-bump [fist-bump]

Note: the pair can walk passed a religious wedding, and see an older pair next to them whilst they are talking. See pics above, taken over 10 years.

עיט זהוב מקנן בנגב Golden Eagle Nesting in Israel

[These same two can then be seen near Jai Shimon when he discovers the ark in OK5]

Michael: That’s not archaeology, it’s Arch-angel-ology.
Seth: Believing really is seeing!

Chalice of Malice
– character development of homeless man (Frank)

This scene shows Frank (single homeless man) stop on his way back from the soup van to talk to a couple of street performers near the shrine. One is a guy playing djembe to Bob Marley’s War, another is an aboriginal girl dancing to it and selling t-shirts and incense (or anything else.) They are also collecting tips in a hat.

Frank is wearing his Vietnam war bomber jacket. He was a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) helicopter pilot during the Vietnam war. This is part of the reason he sleeps near the shrine.

Jeff: [djembe player]: Hey mon
Frank: Ahh hi again
Lenah: Don’t let ’em bad boys bring you down
Frank: I never did [putting his hands in his jacket pocket – he was never shot down while flying and he is proud of it. Note he is using past tense – he is to be murdered later. He was a hero during the war and saved many injured soldiers.]
[Jeff takes some money out of the hat and throws it to him]
Frank: Cheers for that [He salutes them – see pic above]
Lenah: Dance with me Digger [Lenah starts dancing with Frank]
Frank: Well I could use a nurse right now, I’m always ill
Lenah: Time heals all wounds doesn’t it?
Frank: That’s what they say
Lenah: You just gotta find the right beat, ay
Frank: I’ve never heard them say that
Lenah: They don’t know
[shot of a random helicopter flying overhead]
[Frank points to the helicopter, then to his jacket’s insignia and some medals]

source

Frank: Number 9 Squadron – I was flying insertions and extractions
Lenah: So we have a hero in our midst?
Frank: How does that saying go “Legends never die and ”
Lenah: “..heroes live forever. ” Is that true?
Frank: We’ll have to wait and see [winks – walking off]

At this point the song “War” by Bob Marley which was playing on their speaker becomes a proper background track as he keeps walking. “War” quotes from one of Haile Selassie’s most famous speeches. The lyric:

“Until the color of a man’s skin
Is of no more significance than the color of his eyes
Me say war”

Can be clearly heard to indicate Lenah and Jeff are solid friends. [can closeup on the eyes]

When the murder of the other couple and the mother takes place, this song keeps playing and there is a cut to Lenah and Jeff jamming in the street in another part of the city – or someone listening to this song on a sidewalk.

Really, wars take place over scarce resources and can easily happen between tribes of the same ethnic group. Any form of difference can be leveraged by a warmonger such as Redd White.

Bob Marley - War (Audio)

By having music occur over the murders, it likens to the Godfather with murders taking place during an opera:

The real message here is that the war culture pervades everything and anyone can die from it – no one is immune. People think that because they are not in the armed forces, they are free from it – this is not true. People are always fighting over something and there is always collateral damage. The main solution is through good communication and finding common ground. Music is one avenue to do that.
